Another vote for Poly Weld if/when you did actually give this project a try. 'Tis good stuff....melts the acrylic together, kinda like welding metal (only without the flux, of course) so it's a fairly permanent solution.

I was fortunate to be able to have my pieces laser cut as a back-hand favour from sum1 at work. The laser cutting only gets you a guaranteed straight line, but you can still expect the finished edges to be a bit rough 'n' bumpy. I still had to fine-file the edges of my pieces to get a flusher finish. |

Update!
I've had another quote on this, and its seeming much more reasonable. Also, for some reason, Its cheaper to have it made out of 10mm acrylic than 8mm... ![]() (all of the internal lines and other lines will go, they are just construction lines) The holes are 3.2mm so that they can be tapped to an M4 thread and will be both bolted and glued, and the dimensions are 400mm x 400mm , and the overal case will be cubic! I'm gonna do a full 3D render for the external resevior in the next week or so, and have that sent off to be made, then I can concentrate on the computer bit itself. |

Hey mate. Shaping up to be a great project. If you need and help with any 3d modeling i've just bought a 3d modeling software from my school fully licensed. I have a lot of experince with it so give me a shout if you need anything. That goes for all the other modders out there aswell

Just a quick few things...:
For a G1/4" thread, I need to cut/drill to 11.8mm and then tap right? Smoothy really is properly non-conductive? and finally, what colour water? (I've got no real colour scheme as the entire PC is clear, the PSU and rad and stuff are black ect.) |
